julianmathsMe in my classroom and I happily venture out to you by bicycle too.

Thank you for visiting my page.

I am a maths and science tutor specialising in GCSE and A level tuition. I have been tutoring now for 19 years and gained classroom experience at Croydon and Westminster Colleges, after my teacher training year. Then I worked with two home schooling groups in Dulwich and Brixton, before specialising mainly as a home tutor.

I usually teach the Edexcel, AQA and OCR syllabuses and help the student to be aware of the exam papers for their particular syllabus, the layout of the syllabus and its content.

After my Oxford degree in science I studied art and philosophy before establishing my career in teaching. This diverse background has helped me make the maths and science subjects more interesting and comprehensible for many students, since I can tap into other knowledge and interests they already have.

Some of my students are looking to polish an already sound academic understanding they have, whilst others have gained from my support, when working with such difficulties as dyslexia and other pre-diagnosed needs.

My own approach tends to be quite visual and I often produce an A4 page with notes and diagrams for the pupil to keep and remember key points from.

I am now travelling again and come to you by bike. I still offer teaching online and also teaching from my classroom in Peckham if needed.

Finally, I have worked with local authorities, such as Lewisham, to create educational environments. These usually involve science in conjunction with art. I have created projects for primary school students in schools across the borough as well as working with children in The Royal Free Hospital. These projects have involved interests close to my heart, linking to education, recycling and physical and mental health.

Recently I created the museum of the Cell featured in the 2019 Peckham Festival.
